two, actually.

1. making water
would it be possible to pay a sum in order for a contruck to excavate a square and turn it into a blue square? this would create the ability for players to make lakes/rivers/channels that they could push their ships through.

2. making land
would it be possible to pay a sum in order for a contruck to dump earth into a water square and extend their land holdings? as i see it, this would automatically make the square belong to that nation.

as far as pricing goes, if it costs $300 to make a bridge, reclaiming a square from the sea or dredging the land to make a water square should cost upwards of $3000. unless of course, this isn't possible within the mechanics of the mapping system.

I've thought about allowing people to terraform, but I ultimately decided against it. I think people would just form huge rivers and moats around their land to make it harder to approach their border, or build thin strips of land to connect islands or continents. I think the terrain would start looking silly and unrealistic pretty quickly.

Nope, I would use it to spell the letters SCY in the middle of the middle ocean.

Oh, then there's no reason for me to worry about that whole "silly and unrealistic" thing. haha

sad, but quite understandable.

then again, i was going to abandon some of my land to spell MCXA in the middle of my territory on Callandor.

also though- jacking the price up would mean that people wouldn't be horsing around with the terraforming, yeah?

Oh! This reminds me of another idea!

Would it be possible to have the price of a bridge depend on how far away it is from land? Presumably, water would get deeper the farther off the coast you are, so building a bridge over that section would cost more. This might stop people from doing unrealistic things such as building bridges across entire oceans.
