Surrender Option

Although this map is far from over, its over.  At least for me. I cannot win both my current battles purely from a financial perspective.

I will continue to fight and try new options and  unique gameplay as my resources allow.

However, life sometimes throws curve balls and instead of having abandoned units that might impede other players I think a surrender option should be available.

As a reminder, rebel units will come into play once you're down to 50% of your peak territory! You'll get a few each cycle, and the quantity of rebels who take up arms increases at each 10% increment.

I wanted to get away from the game being easy to steamroll, so I'll be curious to see if the rebels help prevent that.

If the game is still too much of a land grab and win rush, then I'll definitely need to adjust the economy calculations.

And here I am, thinking I'm gonna be the first player eliminated!

But yea, it would add an interesting option for diplomacy to be able to cede a bit of territory automatically and, say, end 1 front of a 2 front war? (I'm open to negotiations Hannibel!)

Otherwise, I guess we can just pull units back and let the territory be captured.

I am not sure how the mechanism would work. I see the surrender of territory as something to be added to a Treaty.

I don't like the idea of the country suddenly disappearing either.  Maybe use the Rebels or an AI to continue. Or make them a neutral country. Their territory is frozen and cannot be claim but can be travelled through by anyone

Seem to recall we would message each other rudimentary screenshots with paint images of proposed borders as part of the negotiations... We could also vacate cells in legacy so that helped. Would be interesting to incorporate all that in the treaty system.
