error message when selling units over a bridge

tried selling this jeep today but i get an error message that there are no nearby bases. if there were no bridges there, i could see this being an issue. the presence of a CT there is irrelevant

are units not allowed to be sold over bridges?

You can, but you can only be about half the distance away from the base than usual.
