Well, that didn't work quite as well an planned.
The site is now running on the new server, but the Daily Cycle basically imploded. A world that processed in 51 seconds on my previous server took 24 minutes on the new one, despite the fact that the hardware specs are basically the same. Sandbox took about two minutes on the previous server. On the new one, it had been running 20 minutes and was only 20% complete! Very frustrating.
I had to revert Ornitho and Sandbox back to their 3:30am backups, and the Daily Cycle is currently on hold. I need to resolve the processing issue before I decide the next step.
I'm very sorry for the trouble! I'll update this thread when I have more info.

No worries, the game has been running like clockwork for the months I've been playing every day. You do an amazing job with it. Thank you.

The hosting provider wasn't able to correct the performance issue. So, my plan is to migrate back to the previous server today and find another solution. Very frustrating.
I expect to do the migration this evening. Since last night's Daily Cycle did not process, everyone's moves should still be set for tonight's Daily Cycle and I'll let it run normally.

I've chosen a different dedicated hosting provider. I hope to have my server available within a few days.
When I do the conversion this time, I'm going to run some Daily Cycle performance tests before I start a full migration! Live and learn.
Again, my apologies for all of the trouble!

Thanks, guys!
I know the game is built around a steady, daily pace, so I just really hate interrupting that.

Johnny, if we miss a day or two, no big deal. Gives some of us a chance to form a plan of action based on those around us. As long as you keep us in the loop, no biggie. Yeah, I was hoping to get in all the days I can, but that holds off the bigger blobs on the map too...lol. Besides, if more noobs jump in, gives us a chance for more players and for more experience as noobs, those of us that are.
Keep it up. I trust you, as I hear you are good at running Too Much Stupid.

During the server migration, please turn your attention to the newest craze to appear!

No sweat, Johnny. One day of vacation is nice every now and then.
