I have a list of updates and features I'd like to add bouncing around in my brain (e.g. user list will let you view profiles or send a whisper, set away status, etc.), but please feel free to use this thread to throw out your own suggestions. I may not implement them all, but I'll definitely try to add the ideas I like!

I think a chat room for alliances would be beneficial.

i think an ingame world chat would be very nice, with the ability to send private messages, or send alliance only messages, and considering most people only log onto this game once a day, perhaps the chat log would stay there for 24 hours? thanks for reading, peace.
P.S. i think i speak for all of us when i say i would love to play a map that is the same as our planet earth!!!

If you click the room drop-down in the upper-right corner, you should see your alliances listed. Just select a name to enter that room.

Actually, I think that basically describes the functionality of "notes" and the alliance message boards.

several people brought this feature suggestion up already;
the ability to have "tabs" or the ability to be in more than one room at once. I like being in the lobby to chat with random players while being in my alliance room(s) to discuss with my people.
I think if this specific feature was implemented, the chat room itself would be exponentially more useful, and thus may be used more.

I agree that tabbed chat would be a nice addition.
Depending on how much of a drag it would be on the system, a 24-hour chat log would be nice, in order to let people log in and log out of the site while continuing a [very slow] conversation through the chat widget. The alliance boards probably cover this, but an message of the day (MotD) or opening statement feature that could be set by the alliance leader might be nice, if unnecessary.
Overall I really rather like it as it is though. Nice job!

I thought I was going crazy but it happened again!
It seems whenever I go away or idle long enough, the chatroom stop updating. I'll see messages saying people joined/left but not see their names on the right column. However when I click on Lobby (I'm already in Lobby) it refreshes the room and update the current people in the room on the list.
sometimes I find myself going idle for hours in there so I see it quite often.

I'll have to review the code to see what could possibly be causing this, and then sit in the chat one day to see if I can duplicate it.

It may have been a browser cache issue. I made a change that I believe should prevent this from occurring again.

tabbed chat is excellent, and looks polished. well done.
Time to sit idly for hours and find more bugs. [/gag]

Thanks! My favorite part is actually how the tabs break down into multiple rows if there are too many or if the window is resized too small. It's funny, though, because it's also the part that most people will probably never see. haha

It is often those hidden triumphs that feel especially good, isn't it. :)
Also wanted to agree chat looks brilliant.

Another thing I found;
I was in the lobby chatting up a storm with a couple other players when I switched to check my Einio alliance room. There was nothing new in there so I went back to the lobby chatroom. I noticed that everytime I switch tabs, the scroll bar goes back to the top.
In the lobby, the conversation had been really long that everytime I go back to the lobby, I have to scroll all the way back to the bottom. This isn't really a huge problem for me but maybe it's an easy fix?

Fixed! Definitely an oversight on my part.

How about a way to tell if a new message have appeared in the chatroom? I.e. flashing of the bar or some sort of a 'new message icon' on the specific chat tab?
Oh, if this is somehow used, make it an option. Some people really hate being notified/flashed at/etc.

PARTY IN LOBBY CHAT!
Bug note: Worlds that already ended, the options to enter those worlds' alliance chatrooms are still possible. Something you didn't think of at time of creation?

Please see <a href="

Also, being able to tie alliance membership into chat rooms probably wouldn't work very well with a third-party system.

I think I left it in case allies wanted to chat about a world even after it ended. It probably doesn't make sense, though, so I updated it to not include removed worlds.
I also updated the chat room so that a tab blinks if something is said inside of it when it's not the current room.

Would it instead be possible to time stamp messages and have an optional audible tone when people enter or leave a room or when someone posts?

Awesome! I'm sure it will encourage the use of multiple rooms.
